| Kaleidoscope Plus Group | Kaleidoscope Plus Group is an award-winning mental health and wellbeing charity with over 50 years' experience. Based in Sandwell in the West Midlands, but operating nationally, we are committed to improving emotional health and ensuring that everyone, no matter who or where they are, has access to the emotional wellbeing support they need to lead a healthy and rewarding life. There is still so much stigma surrounding mental health but we exist to promote mental health awareness and the importance of protecting mental wellbeing in our busy daily lives. We know that being outdoors and active helps promote mental wellbeing and so feel that a becoming an official 2025 charity with the Aberdovey Bike Ride could be a perfect partnership. In 2024 one of our supporters raised over £850 for Kaleidoscope Plus Group in memory of Matthew, a family friend lost to suicide. He told us “I chose to raise money for Kaleidoscope because they see that need and they offer that support. That support may be the difference between someone making the decision to live rather than to die and that is the legacy that Matthew would have wanted to leave.” We’d love the opportunity to partner with the Aberdovey Bike Ride in 2025 to help raise much needed funds to support the vital work Kaleidoscope Plus Group does in our communities. | If we were fortunate enough to be selected as an official charity partner, we would use the money raised to help support our in-demand youth services. 1 in 6 children aged 6-16 are likely to have a mental health problem and shockingly 34% of those who do get referred to NHS services are not accepted into treatment. The decline in our children’s mental health is devastating lives and impacting the future of our young people. We are determined to help, before these challenges reach a crisis point. At Kaleidoscope Plus Group we offer a reduced rate for young people to access our counselling services. Money raised from the 2025 Bike Ride would help us to provide this subsidised offer to more families, meaning they can access the necessary, specialised support quickly without the hassle of needing to be referred or sit on long waiting lists. “It has definitely had a really positive effect on me, I've managed to focus myself, I haven't been so angry all the time. I'm glad I've done it; it's going to make me a better person.” Young person “[My son’s] therapist has found a common ground to unlocking his teenage mind. My son loves his sessions with our counsellor, she's a great therapist. We didn't know what to expect at the beginning but she made us both feel relaxed and less anxious.” Parent |
